Message from Mayor Jose "Joey" Torres

In addressing the issue of substance abuse it is very important that the people of our city unite as one. Our efforts must be in the areas of Prevention, Intervention, and Education. This must be the effort of everyone working together and assuming responsibility for the quality of life in our city.

Law enforcement is an integral and very important part of the effort to reduce substance abuse in our city nonetheless the true effort must start at home, in our schools, places of worship, community agencies and organizations, substance abuse prevention is the responsibility of the whole community.

As your Mayor I ask that you support our efforts in fighting substance abuse and become part of the Coalition for a Drug-Free Paterson. I know the response to this call will be great.
