Who is the Alliance?

The Paterson Municipal Alliance Prevention Program consists of community leaders and concerned citizens representing Youth Programs, Paterson School District, Paterson Police Department, Probation Department, Community Based Social Service Organizations, the Business Community and the Faith Community.

What is the mission of the Alliance?

The mission to provide and support programs and events for the community to:

  • reduce substance abuse among youth and over time among adults
  • strengthen community collaboration against substance abuse
  • strengthen community collaboration against crime.

Currently, the Alliance has received funding through the federal Drug-Free Community Support Program that is being used to develop special events and programs that aid in the prevention of substance abuse and crime and to its credit has sponsored, during the month of May, "Zero Tolerance" - Crime and Drug Prevention Week.

The staff of the DFPCC is actively involved in the on-going process of seeking grants and funding for the purpose of bringing to the community new services and programs that will aid in the continued effort of Prevention, Intervention, and Education in our fight to eradicate substance abuse in our city.
